Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is processed entirely in your browser with the Canvas API — it never leaves your device, which makes this tool safe for confidential designs.
Which image formats are supported?
PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF (first frame), SVG and AVIF — anything your browser can display.
How does color extraction work?
Yexla samples the image's pixels and clusters them with the median-cut quantization algorithm, returning the most representative colors sorted by coverage.
Can I export the extracted colors?
Yes — download the palette as JSON or CSS variables, or click any swatch to copy its HEX code.
